Filling Out a FAFSA Overview
Congratulations! Now that you have gathered your documents and completed the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet, you can begin to fill out the FAFSA on the Web. Some of the benefits of applying online are:
- Help is available for most of the individual fields on each page of the application. As you progress from one field to the next, new Help and Hints will appear to the right of the form. If you need help with a specific question, click on “NEED HELP?” located at the bottom of every FAFSA page. You can also get one-on-one help from a customer service representative by clicking on “Live Help” at the top of the FAFSA page.
- The system will evaluate your answers as you go and questions that would not apply to you and/or your situation will not be presented to you.
- You have access to worksheets that automatically calculate and enter information for you.
- You can save your application at any time and return to it later.
- You can Use your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA on the Web application.
