To receive federal student aid, the student must be registered with Selective Service if the student is male, at least 18 years old, and born after December 31, 1959.

Yes means the student:

• Is a male between 18 through 25 years of age, and
• Has not yet registered for Selective Service

By answering Yes, the student gives Selective Service permission to register him. If the student believes that he is not required to be registered, he must call the Selective Service office at 1-847-688-6888 for information regarding exemptions, or access the Selective Service Web site at www.sss.gov. The student can also register on the Internet at this address.
