1040/1040A/1040EZ Tax Forms

Previous

These are types of United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax forms.

1040: The standard tax form. If you (or your parents) do not meet the qualifications to file the 1040A or 1040EZ, this is the form that must be filed.

1040A: A simplified version of the 1040. You (or your parents) must earn less than $100,000 per year, not itemize deductions, not receive income from a business or farm, not receive self-employment income or alimony, and have no capital gains.

1040EZ: The most simplified tax form of the three listed. The same conditions that apply to the 1040A also apply to the 1040EZ with one additional condition, you (or your parents) cannot have dependents.

More detailed information about these forms and the qualifications to file them can be found at the IRS Web site www.irs.gov.
