I submitted the FAFSA under the wrong Social Security Number or name. What should I do?

Previous

If you have submitted an application with an incorrect Social Security Number (SSN) or if your name has officially changed (for example, because of marriage), you must fill out a new FAFSA and provide the correct SSN or the correct first and last name.

The application you have already submitted cannot be deleted from the U.S. Department of Education's database, so you must notify the school's financial aid office that the database may contain two applications under your name or SSN and instruct them as to which one is correct.
