Your Social Security Number and name must be correct on the FAFSA. You will have to submit a new FAFSA to correct your Social Security Number.

If your name was typed incorrectly and is the only data that is incorrect you may correct your name by:

• Going to the FAFSA on the Web home page and selecting Make Corrections to a Processed FAFSA.

If your name has officially changed (for example, because of marriage), you must submit a new FAFSA and provide your correct Social Security Number and first and last name.

The FAFSA you have already submitted cannot be deleted, so you will have two applications on file. You must let your school's financial aid office know which application contains your correct information.
