An EAC is a 6-character alphabetic code; a PIN is a 4-digit numeric code. Although the PIN is the more recent Federal Student Aid tool, an EAC will function in the same manner as a PIN. They both allow you or your parent to access your personal information in various Federal Student Aid programs.
