A Federal Student Aid PIN is a 4-digit numeric code or 6-digit alphabetic code that is uniquely assigned to an individual to access Federal Student Aid Web sites.
The application process is faster if you use your PIN to sign your application electronically. Both you and your parent (if you are dependent) can apply for and use your individual PINs as electronic signatures.
If your parent does not have a PIN, your parent may apply for a PIN by clicking “Apply For A PIN.”
If your parent already has a PIN but does not remember it, your parent may request a duplicate by clicking “I Forgot/Don’t Know My PIN.”
If your parent does not want to sign your application electronically with
their PIN, they can print, sign, and mail a paper signature page instead.
