Can I use FAFSA on the Web to make corrections or updates to an application already submitted for processing?

Previous

Yes. If the information on your FAFSA is incorrect or your school determines that the information needs to be changed after they verify your application, you can use Corrections on the Web to correct your answers.

However, you cannot change your Social Security Number (SSN) using Corrections on the Web. If you filed a FAFSA using an incorrect Social Security Number, you can change that SSN by either entering the correct one on a paper Student Aid Report (SAR), or asking the financial aid office at one of the schools listed on your SAR to change it for you. Otherwise, you must file a new FAFSA with the correct SSN.

If you need a paper SAR, you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center to request a copy. Refer to the Customer Service page for contact information.

If your marital status has changed since you filed your application, you should contact your school's financial aid office for assistance.
