If you started your FAFSA then saved it, you can retrieve your saved application and continue from where you left off.
To open your saved FAFSA:
- Go to the FAFSA on the Web home page.
- Select "Open Your Saved FAFSA or Correction Application" from the Filling Out a FAFSA section.
- On the next page, select the school year.
- On the next page, enter your:
- Social Security Number,
- Last Name,
- First Name,
- Date of Birth, and
- The password created on your initial FAFSA entry page.
FAFSAs are saved for 45 days or until the federal application/correction deadline date. After 45 days or after the federal application/correction deadline date has passed, the application will be removed from the database, and you will not be able to access it. (Select Application Deadline Dates on the home page to see the federal application/correction deadline dates).
If your application was not found in our database and was accessed less
than 45 days ago and the federal application/correction deadline
date has not passed, select "Try Again" and verify the login information
entered. (Select Application Deadline Dates on the home page
to see the federal application/correction deadline dates).
If the login information is correct and we do not have an application you must start a new application.
