Select Yes if your parents became legal residents of their state before January 1, 2004.

Select No if your parents became legal residents of their state on or after January 1, 2004.

Although states use different criteria for determining whether or not you are a resident for purposes of state financial aid, all states consider you to be a resident if you became a legal resident of that state more than five years ago.

You should contact your school's financial aid office for assistance with legal residency qualifications.
